In the game of the day, Duluth Central and Minneapolis West battled to a 1-1 draw through two halves of regulation, preferring to save all the drama for the ensuing overtime and shootout. 

West's Nora Sauer opened the scoring with an even-strength goal midway through the first half, and the one-goal advantage would hold until Central's Kate Kosobud knotted the score with 1:43 remaining to overtime.

With no champion decided in the extra session, the teams moved on to a shootout, where Kosbud once again played the hero by scoring the game-winner. Central netminder Jada Pelowski denied all three Mariner shooters she faced as red claimed the crown.
